Liebster_Blog_Award

The Rules:

  • You must link back to the person who nominated you;
  • Answer 11 questions from the person who nominated you;
  • Nominate 11 new bloggers and ask them 11 questions (please answer the questions that I answered below);
  • You cannot nominate the person who nominated you;
  • You must let the people you nominate know they have been nominated.

Meglena asked me to answer these questions before accepting this award:

  1. What is your biggest goal in life?
    Publishing a novel.
  2. What’s your dream job?
    Being a writer
  3. Would you rather follow your heart or your head?
    A combination of both works best for me.
  4. If you are allowed to do just one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
    Writing.
  5. What do you think of this expression: Where there was fire, ashes remain?
    This expression is true. Whatever happens will always leave its mark.
  6. What’s the best gift you’ve ever given and what’s the best gift you’ve ever received?
    The best gift I’ve ever given? Probably paying for my daughter’s driving lessons… The best gift I ever received? There are at least two: my brand new computer (by my husband), all my short stories printed and bound (by my daughter).
  7. What ability or skill do you most wish you had (that you don’t have already)?
    To sing. Ever since an ear infection when I was 10 – I haven’t been able to sing and keep the right tones…
  8. If you could vacation anywhere in the world, where would you go?
    If money wouldn’t matter: I would travel everywhere to bring peace and hope.
  9. What would you do without electricity for 3 days?
    Take long walks with my husband, talk, read, etc.
  10. What is your favorite book/author?
    Dean Koontz. Throughout the last two years I detected many promising new authors, my list of favourite authors is constantly growing.
  11. What’s the biggest problem facing the world right now and If you alone could solve it, how would you do it?
    Many people lost their ability to be grateful. Greed too often leads to serious trouble: war, economic crisis, murder, theft, etc. I would always try to appeal to a person’s common sense.

Nominations:

If you don’t do awards or have already received these, please just take it as a token of my appreciation for how wonderful your blogs are. You deserve it!

I herewith nominate:  my followers – you all deserve it!

Be sure to check out her blog.  I think you’ll find some very interesting things over there; I know I have!

1. What was your first job?

Sorting receipts in an office.

As a technical author and translator I always writing anyway. I felt it was time to prepare for my writing. Blogging – writing short stories – writing novels. This seemed (and still does seem) logical.  ;)

I did never look that far ahead.  😉

I guess I just wanted to be a reader, translator, author.

6.  What is your favourite place that you’ve ever visited?

Skerries, Ireland. If ever a place immediately felt like a home – this would be Skerries. Not only because of the windmills, the lighthouse and the seals…

7.  If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?

Ireland! Boston (I loved it despite Triton), Nantucket, San Francisco, Uluru (Ayers Rock), London, Strasbourg, Vienna, Bergen, and – wherever the mood takes me.

8.  What is your favourite movie?

Lord of the Rings, The Shining, The Orphanage, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Hair, 1941, Odd Thomas, etc.

9.  Cat or dog person?

Both!  There (currently) are only cats in our household.

10. Your favourite book?

Lord of the Rings trilogy, nearly every book by Dean Koontz, everything I read by Patricia Briggs, there are too many favourites to list them all…  :)
