FF: Neighbors! #12

Everyone at the station watched as Steve and his companion walked over to my desk. The only sound came from her heels on the floor. The room felt incredibly hot. Steve made the introductions: “Sheriff Jim Burrell, please meet Bobbi Funderburk!”

We shook hands, then sat. Bobbi immediately detected her picture on my desk. “Very flattering!”

All men in the room would have disagreed – the picture was perfect.

I cleared my throat. “We were looking for you, hoping you could tell us something about O-Y.”

Who? – Oh, you mean O’wen A’lien!” We were contacted via telephone. The actor O’wen A’lien needed a home on wheels and a car.”

Bobbi handed me a business card which read:


We received some impressive references and settled a deal. This deal comprised picking him up at the airport. He was already outside when I got there. Not the hunk I had expected; at least he was funny…” She sighed.
